These Perfect Dairy Free Oatmeal Cookies are wholesome and packed with chocolate chips and sweet bananas for even more wholesome goodness.
Oatmeal cookies are loved by most and is one of everyone’s favorite cookie. When we found out my son had a dairy allergy, we started making changes to our diet , creating more healthy and dairy free options. These oatmeal cookies are the perfect dairy free treat. These cookies are not only dairy free but are low in sugar as well. Even when my son was young, I had always replaced sugar with healthier options like pure maple syrup and honey, which we can get locally here in Michigan.
What About The Butter In These Perfect Dairy Free Oatmeal Cookies?
How was I going to make cookies without that wonderful butter flavor? WELL, let me tell you.
There are a few alternatives to that butter and I will tell you, I love them just as much, if not more.
Coconut oil, by far is my favorite and I use it the most in my baking, I like to use the unrefined coconut oil, for that rich coconut flavor.
Apple sauce can also be used in place of oil in baking for a healthy option.
Vegan butter can also be used in place of butter and gives a nice butter flavor to baked goods. I don’t use this often but use on occasion when making my chocolate cake.
