A LITTLE ABOUT OUR SPROUTED FAMILY
Here at our sprouted home , you will meet my husband Ron, our son Ronnie(11), our beautiful chocolate lab Maddie and me, Cindy , mom, wife and creator of all the goodness that happens in our sprouted kitchen.
OUR WHOLE FOOD JOURNEY
After meeting my husband 21 years ago , we knew we wanted to start our growing family, but God had other plans for us. We spent many years going through infertility , pregnancy losses and lots of prayers. We had just started looking into adoption when I became pregnant again and this time our prayers were answered and we had a beautiful baby boy. The pregnancy was not without challenges, it was many months of bed rest and at 32 wks I developed a rare life threatening condition called AFLP. My liver and kidneys were failing and our son was born emergency c-section and I was left in a coma. After 4 days, I was finally able to meet my son, my true blessing.
Shortly after having my son, my husband was diagnosed with an immune disorder , Rhuematoid arthritis that was severely attacking his joints and I became extremely fatigued and after months and several tests later, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia We knew as a family we had some life changes to make, we had always eaten healthy and tried to make healthy choices but after becoming a mom , my true passion for knowing what was in our food and home products was even important to us.
Our biggest change was after my son started having severe digestive symptoms. At an early age, he struggled with tummy aches, acid reflux and inability to gain weight. He just wasn’t growing like he should and after years and months of seeing GI specialists and endoscopies , we finally got a life changing diagnosis of Eosinophilic Esophagitis, an immune response to a food that was causing his esophagus to become inflamed and cause digestive problems.
All these years of feeding my child dairy , dairy was the main trigger making my son sick. Finding dairy to be his main food allergic trigger and tree nuts to be his ana allergy, we were on our way to a whole food journey to bring health and wellness to our family.
That’s when our Simply Sprouted Home began. We began to grow as much of our food as we can, we get most of our food locally sourced and use a more natural approach to products used in or home.
We have learned so much on our whole food journey and want to share with others that you can still enjoy home cooked , nourishing meals even in an allergy friendly home.
